Charlotte Harris Warner Psychotherapist

Charlotte is a fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist, occupational therapist and ecotherapist with over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health. She has worked as a psychotherapist with young people and adults from many different walks of life and cultures with a wide range of difficulties since completing her psychodynamic psychotherapy training in London and Brighton in 2015. She has worked in schools, universities and hospitals in the public sector and for various private EAPs. Charlotte has a full time private practice that has been up and running since 2017 in Spain where she now lives and sees clients from around the world online as well as locally based clients face-to-face.

Charlotte has completed various trainings and specialised in working with Trauma and the ways in which Trauma experienced particularly in early childhood impacts upon us as we develop and the consequences this can have upon our lives as adults.

With the latest advances in neuroscience and research in the Trauma field, we now understand that key to understanding Trauma is not so much in focusing in the events themselves, the “what happened”, but the way our mind and body experienced those events and our capacity to deal with these experiences. Although Trauma is often linked to abuse of any kind, illness, wars and natural disasters or catastrophic events, many of us experience situations that we struggle to cope with, situations that were seemingly “not such a big deal” yet have become overwhelming. Finding a way to make sense of these experiences and the impact they have on our own sense of self and relationship with others is a key part of the therapy process.

Charlotte feels passionate about the power of the therapeutic relationship -  and research shows that meaningful connections have positive impact upon us on many levels - and deep and lasting change is possible as a result of a safe and empathic therapy process.
